I don't know if anybody has been to the drugstore to buy sunscreen lately, but I was shocked the other day to see how expensive it has become. I don't want to sound 95 years old, but I remember when sunscreen was about $5.00 for a huge bottle. Now you get a teeny-tiny tube that looks like it should be a trial size for $16.99+ :( Thankfully, Avon has great sun protection products at reasonable prices, and great SPF coverage for the whole family. ...Liners! And in Campaign 11, brow, eye and lip liners are only $1.99 (pg.13). The neutral lip liner does actually go with a lot of different lipsticks and their khaki eyeliner will make brown eyes P-o-P! Also, if you like things that are $1.99, it's not too late to order Advance Techniques shampoo and conditioner from Campaign 10. I tried the Colour protection & Reviving shampoo the other day and was really impressed that it gave my salon-starved hair a little bit of extra oomph. See - beauty doesn't have to cost a fortune!

....Ok, so there aren't exactly 101 uses for Avon's SSS bath oil, but I have to say, there ARE a lot. I have included some of the more common ones for your benefit, but there are many more. By the looks of it, this is a product you definitely want to have around the house, and in Campaign 11, a 709 ml bottle (that's JUMBO size) is only $9.99!!
These are just some of the uses for Skin-so-Soft I found in my extensive internet research... :) :

1. Obviously, it’s a bath oil.

2. It’s an after shower moisturizer.

3. It can be used to remove makeup.

4. It helps reduce stretch marks.

5. Pour a little in the water of your foot saver to help moisturize your feet while you relax them.

6. It’s a hot oil treatment to soften nails.

7. It’s a good massage oil for those overworked, sore muscles.

8. It’s a good insect repellent for people and their pets (as recommended in Outdoor Life and Field and Stream magazines, plus “Dear Abby”).

The Mascara Mission

Isn't it amazing how something as seemingly insignificant as an eyelash can make such an impact on our looks? I, for one, am so fair that if I don't ply them with a bit of black goop, I end up looking tired and a little lackluster. I used to have a FAVOURITE mascara, by M.A.C of course, but they discontinued it - of course!! It was called 'Mascara Natural', and what I really loved about it was the brush was ever-so-slightly pinched in the middle. This little feature is what really helped to bring my stick-straight lashes forward and up in somewhat of a curling motion. I really loved that mascara, and I really missed it UNTIL I saw that Avon has a similar design in their DARING CURVES MASCARA - it's actually a curling formula with an indented brush, and (*...cheese-alert...*) a great buy at only $3.99!! Don't get me wrong, I love M.A.C. products, and have bought my share in the past, but sometimes it's not always easy to get to a kiosk (ie. we don't even have one in Orleans!), and it's certainly not easy to shell out $20 for a lipstick! Mark. has the colour variety and staying power that M.A.C does - without the higher prices. Plus, you can create your own colour palettes - imagine using ALL the eye shadows in a quad instead of just 2!! Anyway, check it out for yourself at the e-brochure on the right hand side....

Yes, I've decided to sell Avon. Truth be told, I've used Avon products for years and have always loved them. They are one of the few companies left out there who still believe in quality for an affordable price. You've probably been hearing this a lot, but "in these tough economic times" who can afford to pay $15 for mascara or $30 for shampoo? Honestly?? Anyway, you may not have seen Avon for a while, so I encourage you to check it out. They've added a new feature which allows you to view their brochure online, but if you would prefer, I don't mind dropping one in your mailbox either.
